My graduation thesis was the research and the development of a website for contemporary education, focusing on narrative arts, including a new approach to accessibility while also retaining the advantages seen on sites like Khan’s Academy and edX.
The project, entitled ‘Akademeia’ as hommage to Plato’s academy, was approved by the comitee of educators at the Istituto Europeo di Design and is currently being developed by myself into a full fledged platform.
Home page, greeting the user with a myriad of useful videos along with relevant information and quick navigational links.
A friendly user profile page with badges and achievements in order to stimulate participation, along with useful lists for the videos that the student has not seen and has liked.
The project, meant to be free, will work with external funding provided by donations in a crowdfunding scheme. As users donate, more money can be alloted into the project and more features and videos are released.
This is the page displayed when a video is being viewed. There is a section for comments along with link for external references and other relevant information. Every video would have a transcript available for it in various languages.
