A group of sketches and studies I did on the subject of, well, hands 
. Used mostly mine for the poses, although some I drew from photographs that were provided in art classes last year. Yes, the title is a silly pun – forgive me!

Character Study

Creating a character involves a series of steps. You need to research and sketch a lot, from poses to small details. It is just as important to have the character appearing in a pose that tells the public about her as it is important to have her wearing/using gear and apparel that makes sense. I included two pictures which take a look into a tiny part of the process I went through.

Medium: Pen on paper.
This one, the gorgon, was a simply sketch for an idea I had at the time, never went ahead of it and so it stayed like a mere sketch. I went through a lot of snake photographs and ‘deviant’ women before I sketched anything.

The savage is a piece I had actually put up in the site a while ago, as you can see. I went through the Tarzan movies, through photographs of extreme sports, checked Assassin’s Creed and went ahead to do the poses myself, taking photographs to use as a basis. Honestly, quite a bit of research before the final piece was actually done.

7 Designs I made for a t-shirt contest at shirt.woot. Theme: ‘Visual Pun’. All done within a day and a half (started friday, finished today).
