Big Blue Belts Out

Design made for shirt.woot. Original theme was ‘Blue’. From this I derived the classic picture of the singing whale, in this case, singing the blues ![]()
Waiting for them to review it, takes up to two months. Figers crossed, I like this design and I’d love to see it printed by them

Media Study

I was inspired and looking forward to practicing with inkpens, so I got a photo for reference and started sketching. Mainly a material and technique study. The lady in the picture had beautiful eyes which I, unfortunately could not reproduce properly and the paper did bleed quite a bit which drove me kinda crazy. Note to self: Even when studying, never, ever, EVER use paper that contains cotton. Lesson learned, of that I have no doubt.

Comic Book Study

I will be straightforward: I love comic books. That said, I have had this story laying around for a while and it is bugging me to get out. In order to practice and see what style would work for it, I started trying. This is one of the results.

I have no idea yet if this is the style I’m gonna go with for the comic book I intend to write but nevertheless, sketching, thinking, researching are all important parts in the process of creating.
